Address & Mortality Results

This article discusses how to understand your Address & Mortality results with examples. If you would like to understand your results as whole for each check, please click on the check below:

The below article is split into three sections to discuss how to read your results and examples:

1) Overall Results;

2) Mortality Results;

3) Address Results.

Section 1: Overall Results

For Address & Mortality you will be presented with one of two overall results:

ResultDescription
Pass
We have been able to confirm that there is evidence from the UK Credit Database and UK Electoral Roll that the individual lives at the address in question.
Pending
We have not been able to confirm that the individual lives at the address in question.

Our Address & Mortality checks will check the individuals name, address & date of birth against the UK Credit Reference Agency, UK Credit Databases and UK Electoral Roll sources to confirm their address. The individuals name & address will also be checked against the UK Deceased Person's Record.

To pass the check the individual's name and date of birth has to be found at the address (with a match on the electoral roll and credit database), cannot be flagged as deceased or someone who has moved out (change of address).

If the overall result appears as 'Pending', you will be presented with the areas that did not match against the UK Credit Database & Electoral Register. For these cases you will need to carry out your own due diligence to confirm the individual's address as we have been unable to verify this.

Your results will then be split into two areas:

    1. Mortality Check

    2. Address Check

Section 2: Mortality Results

For the Mortality check, you will see a table outlining whether we have matched the individual to that address as being deceased, or if there is no match, as they have not been registered as deceased at that address.

You will then have a list of remarks, which provide you with where the information has come from. In the example above, there are no records on the UK Deceased Person's database that this individual has been recorded as deceased at that address.

Section 3: Address Results

As with the Mortality results, for the Address results, you will be presented with a table outlining what sources have been matched for the individual at the address. Matched means we have been able to match that data source with the individual. No match means we have not been able to match the individual to that address for that area of the check.

You will then have a list of remarks showing which sources have been able to be matched or not.

Example 1

In the example below, the individuals full name could be matched to the address by both the Electoral Register and Credit Database. Whilst the Electoral Roll had no information to confirm the individuals date of birth, the date of birth has been able to be matched via the Credit Database leading to an overall pass.

Example 2

In the example below, the individuals full name was able to be matched against the Electoral Roll but there were no records matching the individual from the Credit Database for their name or date of birth. This has led to an overall pending of the result, as we could not fully confirm the individual lives at the address.

Example 3

In the example below, whilst the Electoral Roll has confirmed this is a real address. There are no matches to the individual's name or date of birth from either the Electoral Roll or Credit Database that the individual lives there.
