3) PEPs & Sanctions Results

4) Safe Harbour Results

This article discusses each result in more detail. If your clients need help completing their checks, they can view our guides and videos here.

Section 1: Identity Document & Liveness Results

Liveness Results

Your identity results will be split into two sections - Liveness & Identity Document Results.

For liveness, you will be presented with one of two overall results:

Result
Description
PassWe have been able to confirm the individual is live and present when completing their check.
PendingWe have not been able to confirm the individual is live and present when completing their check so we have asked them to complete a pose for you to review.

If the individual does not pass the passive liveness check, they will be asked to do a pose to confirm their liveness. If this result is pending, you will need to review this pose yourself. If you would like to see some examples of the results, please click here.

If you have our optional opt-in service, called Credas+, we will review the pose for you, and in these cases you will only be presented with either a pass or fail, with these results presented below:

ResultDescription
PassWe have been able to confirm the individual is live and present when completing their check.

FailWe have not been able to confirm the individual is live and present when completing their liveness selfie or pose.

Identity Document Results

For the Identity Document Results, you will be presented a list of checks that have been run on the Identity Document and whether these have passed, failed or not performed. These checks are outlined below:

Check
Description
Facial Match
This checks whether the face on the Identity Document matches the face in the liveness image.
Visual Analysis
This checks whether the document is a valid Government-issued Identity Document. - This check is only performed if a NFC scan is not attempted.
Name Match
This checks whether the name on the Identity Document matches the name on the invitation.
Date of Birth Match
This checks whether the date of birth on the Identity Document matches the date of birth on the invitation.
NFC Result
This checks whether we were able to complete an NFC read on the passport.
Age Validation Result
This checks whether the date of birth on the Identity Document confirms the holder is at least 16 years of age. - This check is only performed if a NFC scan is not attempted.
Police Record
This checks whether the Identity Document has been recorded on the UK Metropolitan 'Amberhill' Police Database as lost, stolen or compromised.  - This check is only performed if a NFC scan is not attempted.
Compromised Alert
This checks whether the Identity Document is publicly available as compromised on national databases of reported compromised documents. - This check is only performed if a NFC scan is not attempted.
Repeated Attempts Alert
This checks whether the Identity Document has been submitted previously but with different information, such as with a different face or passport number. - This check is only performed if a NFC scan is not attempted.

If the Identity Document result comes back as referred or failed, you will need to carry out your own due diligence to confirm the individuals identity, or send the individual a new check for them to try again. For more information on understanding Identity Document results, please click here.

Section 2: Address & Mortality Results

For Address & Mortality you will be presented with one of two overall results:

ResultDescription
PassWe have been able to confirm that there is evidence from the UK Credit Database and UK Electoral Roll that the individual lives at the address in question.
PendingWe have not been able to confirm that the individual lives at the address in question.

Our Address & Mortality checks will check the individuals name, address & date of birth against the UK Credit Reference Agency, UK Credit Databases and UK Electoral Roll sources to confirm their address. The individuals name & address will also be checked against the UK Deceased Person's Record.

To pass the check the individual's name and date of birth has to be found at the address (with a match on the electoral roll and credit database), cannot be flagged as deceased or someone who has moved out (change of address).

If the overall result appears as 'Pending', you will be presented with the areas that did not match against the UK Credit Database & Electoral Register. For these cases you will need to carry out your own due diligence to confirm the individual's address as we have been unable to verify this.

For more detail on how to read your Address & Mortality results with examples, please click here.

Section 3: PEPs & Sanctions Results

For PEPs & Sanctions checks you will be presented with one of two overall results:

Result
Description
Pass
We have not found any possible PEPs & Sanctions matches for the individual
PendingWe have found possible PEPs & Sanctions matches to the individual.
FailFailWe have found a PEPs & Sanctions match to the individual. This result will only appear if you have our optional Credas+ service.

If the overall result appears as 'Pending', you will be presented with all the possible matches to your client. For these cases you will need to investigate and remediate the results and confirm if the possible matches are your client.

If available, we will provide the following information for you to help you decide if the possible matches are your client:

    - An image of the individual who has appeared as a possible match

    - The possible matches full name

    - The possible matches date of birth

    - The possible matches nationality

    - The possible matches gender

You will then be presented with a table outlining the reason for the flag. For more details on the PEPs & Sanctions results, please click here.

Section 4: Safe Harbour Results

Whilst we will present you the information you need for Safe Harbour within the PDF, the Safe Harbour result will always appear as pending. This is because you will need to make the decision if the check has met Safe Harbour requirements.

Within the Safe Harbour section of the PDF, you will be presented with the individual's passport with the associated results as well as the linking documents again.

If you need help understanding what meets the Safe Harbour standard, please click here.

For the passport results, you will see the below:

Check
NFC result
This checks whether we were able to complete an NFC read on the passport.

You can see an example of how this will appear on the PDF below, in this example every check has passed. As mentioned in the results table above, visual analysis will only be performed if the NFC check was not completed.
